make sure its all UK setting and reboot your pc to have effect if needed.0

Have you just bought a Mac? ;p0
-
Your PC thinks it is using a US keyboard, instead of a UK one.
How you fix/change that depends what system you're running... but if you pretty much know what you're doing that should be enough information for you to poke about and find it/change it.0 -
hi
i have tried to best of my ability to swap to english uk . and i did this by going to control panel selecting region aand language then just selecting uk english. after rebooting nothuing has changed.
do i need to delve deeper into the tex services and input languages?
thanks0 -
no it is a desktop pc that has suddenly thinks it is US english!!
i have tried lots of different combos but with no luck0 -
Copied "ok you have your keyboard set to american. this is how you salve the issue: go to control panel -> regional and language options -> click on the languages tab at the top -> then click details button in text services and input languages -> click the blue arrow pointing down beside English (United States) - US -> then click on English (United Kingdom) - UK -> click Apply ->then click OK -> then click OK in regional and language options window. now try typing stuff you should be working now"

nope still no luck as i have tried as 1984 suggested , is there anything else in the regions and languages>languagages tab that i need to have or must not have?
then when i press "Details" in the LAnguages tab it comes up with
"Settings" and the default input language is
English(UK)-US
and thebox below is "Installed Services"
shows
English(united Kingdom)
keyboard
.US
are these the correct combination to have?
thanks once again0 -
No.
You need a UK keyboard and that says it is set to US (which we already knew as the " and @ are switched).0 -
No, your keyboard needs to be UK.0
