Wrong Colour of car on PCN

Really it looks as tho i will have to pay.
Really, why give up so soon after posting? Think positively!
The majority of PCNs which are posted about on pepipoo.com are successfully appealed, often on technicalities about the lines, signs and/or the small-print on the PCN. Yours could well be appealable, you won't know until you look into it further and get some good advice.
Some general questions occurred to me:
- Is that word 'taxis' inside or outside the bay lines?
- Can you pinpoint the road you parked on using Google Street View and do a virtual walk around to find the signs, and post links to the signs and bay asap (if it is the same as you remember it)?
- I am not an expert but I'm wondering if the wording on the back of the PCN about 'appealing WITHIN 14 days' is compliant with the regulations...worth asking about this on pepipoo.com I think. It's that word 'within' that's bothering me but I am not sure - pepipoo posters will know. PCNs can be appealed on something so small as small-print detail and often means the motorist doesn't end up paying anything.
Can i pay for ticket and put in an appeal too as i don't want the appeal going over 14 days and i will have to pay the full price of £70.
No you can't. Councils should re-offer the reduced fine at the next stage anyway if you appeal in time informally now. But you can't pay and appeal. Why not look into it some more, decide if you want to find out if you have any good appeal points by posting about it (with your pics) on pepipoo here:

Great, it's up to the pepipoo experts now then, keep your thread there live with any questions you have and I suspect you may well get lucky with this PCN appeal in the end.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I've today got a ticket from a private company (so I'm definitely not paying, but I don't feel I can just ignore... I'm going to write) - on the "PCN" they've issued they got the make of my car incorrect, but reg etc was right. Should I point this error out?
The reason I'm not paying is because the machine is out of order - I'd happily pay the £8 normal daily parking rate, but there's no way I'm paying £90 because they can't keep the machines working.
Sorry to hijack this thread... just seemed a bit similar with the wrong details, and didn't ant to clog up the forum with another thread unless necessary...Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012

On this parking forum you should always start your own thread for a new case.
But as yours is a private parking ticket it's just a piece of rubbish anyway which you can ignore. On another thread you said ignoring such a ticket doesn't sit well with you so I have suggested something for the RK to write in response to the first letter sent. Don't reply to the ticket alone, that's just telling the PPC who the driver is and giving them info for nothing.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi,
I used to work for Parking Services, and unfortunately, the colour does not matter. As long as the Reg, date, location and time is right, then it is enforceable.
If the signs clearly state on the road that it is a taxi rank, then there is not much you can do really. You will probably be told that if you are unfamiliar with the area, then you should make sure you check all the signs before leaving the vehicle unattended. Taxi ranks are hard to get away with parking on. They will also take photos themselves of the car and any signs.
Also, the wording on the PCN is pretty much tight. (Unless the reg, date, location is wrong)
You will be given 14 days from the issue date to pay at the discount rate, but you can sometimes go over if you post a cheque in, due to the post being crap most of the time.
And if you want to challenge, do not pay. It will stay frozen at the discount rate until they reply, regardless of how long they take.0
