Vodafone Contracts

I have a question on the hidden extras on mobile phone price plans, I have just noticed a charge on my bill for £2.93 per month this has been going on since 2006.

I have found out that this is for Mobile TV and have contacted Vodafone to query the item.

The response I have had so far is an offer to refund 9 months @ 2.93 but I have raised a question with vodafone since 2006 I have upgraded twice and had to sign a new contract at no point has any representative indicated that this additional cost would be on the new contract.

Whilst I agree that this is partly my fault for not noticing the charge are Vodafone in breach of contract for not disclosing the charge when signing a new contract and is there anything else I can do ie cancel the contract rather than accept the 9 months @ £2.93 offer.

You would have to look back at what you took on board, the Mobile TV would more than likely have been part of your original package and carried on. To take 4 years to realise that is simply a consumer fault rather than networks (in my opinion).
Its an add on service I guess - which can be removed at your request (so not a breach of a contract).
  • Thanks for you reply but I suppose the question is each time I have renewed a contract I have sat down with an advisor and gone through whats on my current plan and what if anything I want to be carried over to the new plan at no point did they indicate the Mobile TV else I would have cancelled it (as it's of no use to me) whilst I do not wish to cancel my contract as I actually like vodafone am finding it difficult to figure out where the Mobile TV pack slipped in and why after a number of reviews it hasnt come up.

Well its an add on - a perk you pay for (never used it myself), maybe your first contract in 2006 had it as a freebie for a couple of months (most likely you would have had to give notice to cancel).

When they renew - they renew the basic tariff, the bolt ons are something that continue till you cancel.

I have been offered this several times on a "free one month trial" but have declined in case of forget to cancel it in time and end up on a 'n' month contract for it.
