Car sale Problem

Hey guys just a question you may be able to help with.
The Start
I need advice for my dad he sold a car two months ago to a asian couple who originally agreed to pay £700 on ebay for the car. When the couple came to collect the car they were insistant that my dad reduced the price as they had to travel from Swansea to Glasgow, The price was then reduced to £625 as a good will gesture.
He also had the car MOT for the buyer as well to prove the car was road worthy.
Sale done and he sent the documents to the DVLA to change the ownership of the car.
The Problem
My dad then got a call from the buyer saying the documents of the car had not came yet and after speaking to the DVLA the car had been in a accident and had to be tested by a registered tester so the buyer then done this for a cost of £60. ( The car passed the test with flying colours.)
The accident in question is when my dad first owned the car 3 years ago he had a bump in a asda car park on his wing and due to the age of the car his insurance would only pay a part of the cost and not the full cost and my dad could keep the car.
The buyer is now calling us every few hours and demanding payment of this £60 and I have told my dad not to pay this as its not his problem anymore. I feel my dad has been more than reasonable knocking off money from the agred price and MOT the car.
Outcome
Today the buyer is now threating going to the police about my dad and I fail to see what my dad has done wrong to merit police action.
However if my dad pays the £60 " It dosen't need to go that far" as said in one of the many messages on my parents answer machine.
My Question
Has my dad done any wrong doing ?
I called the DVLA and they seem to think the buyer has not got a leg to stand on with this claim but these phone calls are getting irratating and it seems to my the guy thinks with a phone number he has a lifetime guarantee on the car.
I'd hate for something to go wrong with the car I think my dad would be getting sent repair bills.
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks

I assume they are referring to a VIC
When your father crashed the car what category of write off was it?0 -
It wasnt a write off Category B or C at no point was he told to not use the car after the claim.
Thanks for the replies guy.His Heart Proved He Was A RedSuarez, SuarezWe Bought The Lad From AmsterdamWe Know He's Not a Chelsea Fan.Fernando Torres = El Judas0 -
Doesn't matter
If the Insurance only paid part of the costs and let your father keep it then it was in essence either a Cat C or D write off. If it was C then it needed a VIC in order to get a new V5 and the Write off indicator removed.
Not sure the legalities on selling a car with a Cat C write off on it without declaring it had no VIC.0 -

I stopped reading here. What has the ethnicity of the buyers got to do with anything?0 -
I was thinking a Private car sale is sold as seen and it would be the buyers responsibility to have the car checked ?
I dont know im guessing now but id hate for my dad to be in trouble through this. We offered to buy the car back at the same price he paid to my dad. The car is very good and this is only a small bump its not like the car was half destroyed in this "accident"

Just giving the facts of the sale please don't jump on the racist bandwagon as I couldn't care less who bought the car as long as they didn't hassle my parents like this but thanks for your input. His Heart Proved He Was A RedSuarez, SuarezWe Bought The Lad From AmsterdamWe Know He's Not a Chelsea Fan.Fernando Torres = El Judas0 -
According to the web, the vic check costs £41 so where have they got £60 from?
If it was me I would tell them in no uncertain terms to get stuffed. They could have done an Hpi check on the car if they were that bothered, but of course that would have cost them money and I suppose they would have wanted your dad to pay that as well.
I'm with goldspanners on this, I wouldn't have knocked a penny off. And why would anyone travel that distance to buy a £700 car, the mind boggles!

As Goldspanners says......tell them you will be filing a harassment report with the police if they call again.
the car is not your dad's responsibilty any more.0 -

You were the one who gave cause to0 -
Thank you everyone you have put my mind at ease and I will take the next call they recieve.
I would laugh it off if it was hapening to me but my mum and dad are actually reasoning with this guy and actually wasting there time.
P.s I think the £60 comes to his diesel cost to travel " to a city far away to get the car tested" His words on the messages as well. His Heart Proved He Was A RedSuarez, SuarezWe Bought The Lad From AmsterdamWe Know He's Not a Chelsea Fan.Fernando Torres = El Judas0
