Please Help, Im Going Mad!
Options
I have spent the whole day trying to negotiate a phone up-grade on a decent tariff, i was under the impression that these mobile phone companies are ready to snap your hand off for your business but obviously not me!
all my friends/collegues seem to have great phones and 1000's of texts and 100's of minutes each month and i have been paying £30 per month for 120 mins and 60 texts!!!
so today i tried to negotiate my current contract with orange and whilst they could give me the minutes and texts i wanted the couldnt give me any decent phone options and they could only give me an 18 month contract which im really not keen on having as it just seems so long
i tried vodafone as i wanted the sony ericsson W900i, i tried to get the anytime 350 with 500 minutes for £30 instead of £40 per month and they didnt want to know
i preferably want Vodafone or orange, does anyone have any suggestions because im losing my mind

Find yourself a new customer deal on a different network with the handset, minutes & texts you require and oodles of cashback and then reapproach your current network and simply ask for your PAC code to take your number on to a new network, citing the deal that you have found.
If that doesn't tell the network that you mean business such that they go the extra mile to keep you (at £30/month you are at around the minimum monthly spend figure for them to be interested) then you won't get anything more out of them - unfortunately, these things come and go and sometimes it is a matter of timing as to whether your network is in active "keep all customers at all costs" mode or not.
The key here is that they ought to be chasing you...if you are doing all the haggling then you're doing it wrong. Simply ask to cancel and take your number with you and present them with a compelling case as to why you are leaving then leave them to mull it over. If you are not put in touch with the relevant department (with the power to negotiate a deal) there and then, you may have to bid them farewell and hope for a callback in the next 2-3 days.

Reestit MuttonFor anyone wishing to contact me privately to ask me a question, can I ask that you email me directly as my PM box is often full.0 -
I've just done exactly the same thing.
I asked for my PAC code - the Orange man asked why and I said I was moving to O2 250 tariff (£35 pm)- Orange said that they would give me the the same tariff +320 minutes and my choice of phone (Nokia 6233).
But I've just received the phone and details today and all it says is 'thank you for upgrading your phone' - I'm still on the rubbish Talk Time 120 tariff.
How do give them back their phone and tell them where to stick before doing what I should have done in the 1st place and moved to O2?
Help!
(PS I can spend up to £60 - £70 pm so I'm a reasonable account)0 -

basicly you upgrade from the day the phone arrives but the talk plan doesnt change untill your next bill date, when the phone arrives the next bill date may not have arrived therefore still showing your on your old/current talkplan
just ring and double check its going through but thats prob the caseYes Your Dukeiness0 -
