    Seems simple enough.
When the folks get their items and leave you appropriate feedback, you will get your money.

I think you're confusing this with the 21 day hold on funds. This is a different situation.

They did this to my friend. In the end she had to wait 180 days (the maximum time they're allowed to hold the money) and they released the funds. The account was still limited though.

There is no maximum time that paypal are "allowed" to hold the money, by that i mean that there is no legislation behind it, no law which allows it or binds you to it.

The 180 day thing is purely paypals rule and their whole defense in these situations is that you agreed to it which is true, but that does not mean you can't also disagree with this "agreed" term if you think it is being used against you unfairly.

It's not binding if it's unfair and in the event that a claim was issued in the county court then the court would want to know exactly why paypal were refusing to release an account holders funds to them and since paypal do not like to explain their reasons for routinely freezing it's users accounts the court is likely to decide in the account holders, (legal owner of the funds), favour, i think this is the reasoning behind the authour of the above mentioned site recomending making a county court claim in these instances.

As legal owner of any funds in your account you are always going into the fight with an advantage, you dont need a reason to demand access to your own money, but paypal as a third party would certainly need some strong evidence of unusually high exposure to loss for a court to agree to allow them to continue to freeze an account holders funds.

Bloody hell. What is he doing?? Selling nuclear war heads!!!

I had a similar problem with paypal a couple of years back. I was selling a lot of electronic games etc before xmas. They tied up thousands of pounds of capital. Yes I did get it in the end but it was a nightmare. In the end I had to insist on pickup, cheque or bank transfer. Fortunately my feedback spoke for itself and everybody got what they paid for!!.
