Hello All , Im sorry if this thread has been started before , however I had a look and couldnt find one .
I joined Freecycle which I believe is now got the new name Freegle now , about a year ago . I find it helps with getting rid of what I call junk in the house - And someone in the local area collects who may want what I have on offer . I also find its great for things myself and my family / friends have needed in the past. When trying to save money for items .
I thought it would be good if people could post on here :
Items they have got rid of { the most unusual / tackiest - the funnier }
Items you have recieved {maybe the more money saving of how much you saved , or the most useful - the better }
So Ill start off ;
Collected :

I look forward to reading your posts

Hi keys,
I put lots of things on freegle but the ones people have seemed most pleased with have been my excess seedlings and plants. While I appreciate everything that I've recieved the best was a gorgeous extending kitchen table which was covered in felt tip pen... but cleaned up really well once I got my hands on it. In fact I liked it so much that I have ordered the same table (in a different colour, that will suit my kitchen better) and in turn I'm passing the original table on to another member of MSE.
There are lots of freecycle/freegle threads on the Green & Ethical MoneySaving board that should interest you so I'll move your thread over there to see if you can get more replies.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

Great thankyou for moving my thread

That sounds really good ...And has now given me ideas about certain things I am after that I see occur on Freecycle quite regulary , Like a bookshelf for dd 's room ...If I see one offered I might try and paint one rather than getting one from a shop Ive seen for over £100 quid

I have been an active freecycler for years....
I received lots of baby stuff for GD4 she was a much loved surprise, so the baby things were very much appreciated.
I also received lots of furniture and houseware stuff when my son's marriage broke down and he moved into an unfurnished place with practically nothing.
Lots of plants and cutting when I was establishing a new garden
Other bits and bobs, but I try not to look these days as I am trying to declutter!
Have given
an almost new lounge carpet to a young man who had just moved into his first home (in the house when I moved in, but not to my taste)
A recliner chair to a man with a back injury
Garden furniture
Bags of general household bits and pieces to a lady who was burgled by some 'friends' who she left her key with just before christmas a couple of years ago, leaving her with virtually nothing :eek:
Massage mat to a centre for people with mental health problems
Fridge
Loads of books (mostly received from freecycle)
Big bag of wool
Several pairs of jeans that shrunk in the wardrobe when I wasn't looking
Some cuddly toys to a lady who had just taken in two foster children
Loads of 'tat' that other people seem to be pleased with
I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0
