My best friend (who frequently gets the wrong end of the stick, bless her) told my husband that Sky are to be made to lower their prices to allow more competition from other suppliers. Has anyone else heard this and if so know more details? Thanks.

it has not been decided yet if they are to lower there prices as sky are fighting it. And this does not mean lower prices for customers. What is happening is that they are trying to get sky to reduce the wholesale price that they charge other tv providers e.g bt and virgin to be able to offer their customers sky channels0
