Yes we did we drove it straight down to the south of Spain and did a huge 5,000 mile tour round Europe!!

The reason the service was so much was we had the ferry booked for 6pm one evening and the car broke down at 9am that morning. the only way to get the part was from Sweden via air. the car was ready with 10 minutes to spare. it was the funniest holiday ever and my dad jumped up and down with glee when we got on the ferry!!

Probably less than £100 but I do all my own work, welding etc.

The most I spent was last year, and that's because I needed a complete exhaust system and I didn't have time to sort the rear drums out myself. So it cost me around £600 IIRC. The list price for the OEM exhaust system was £750.
I could have saved loads if I'd had time to sort the rear brakes.

As it happens, I was happy; the car was completely sorted by the end and I'd already got a lot of use out of it.
