iPhone retention deals o2 vs vodaphone
My boyfriend was about to upgrade on vodaphone to a £45.00 a month deal until I read some of the deals O2 are giving out to existing customers.
Brand new 3GS phones, on £31.00 - £35.00 a month deals on an 18th month contract.
Thats all very nice for O2 customers but why do Vodaphone seem not to want to budge on anything.
Are Orange the same?
I keep hearing about this deal with Apple, blah blah, but O2 are not about to make a loss, like the others they are in it to win it.
So why the big difference?

Depends on what you are comparing, like for like phone model, number of minutes, texts and so forth.
Different companies will have different revenue targets and policies - if you want a decent deal, the best way I know is to end a contract and move on somewhere else (thats what I have always done except on one 12 month contract which I extended with o2 purely to get the n95 8gig - a phone I later did not regard all that highly for its build and usability).0 -
Well the fact that 02 customers are being offered a free new 3GS iphone, on 18 month contracts for £31.00.
Thats a pretty awesome deal and an incentive to stay with O2. The nearest Vodaphone offer is paying for an £89.00 phone at 35.00 a month on a 24 month contract.
Not so good.0 -
Vodafones best deal over the contract is £30/mth plus £149 for the phone (total £869) but this only gives you 300min compared to £35/mth plus £89 for the phone (total £929) but 600min.Well the fact that 02 customers are being offered a free new 3GS iphone, on 18 month contracts for £31.00.

If you want to shorten the period you could go for a 18 month £50 tariff (1200min) (total cost £900 or £989 if you want 32gb).IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.
