Well as you won't be able to update WIN98SE in six days time, why worry. Check your firewall using this.

The existing one will still work, so nothing to worry about. If you have broadband, and a broadband modem, a router is a good layer of protection to have - the traffic never gets near your PC.
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?

Use Sygate as Kerio doesnt support win98 and also http://www.oldversion.com/ and scroll down to security and have a look at some older programs

What is a router please, and what does it do. I thought you only had one if you were operating wirelessly??

You are thinking of a wireless router i.e. a router with a wireless access point.

    Read all about routers here.

I don't see the need to change firewall to Sygate. You want to change from Zonealarm because you can't receive updates anymore for this on W98, but Sygate is no longer supported as well, so you wont get updates with this either.

You might as well leave Zonealarm in place seeing as it's already installed and working on your system. It's pointless changing to another unsupported firewall just for the sake of it.

Sygate does not recieve updates as such only new versions and as seeing as Sygate is still very very good its worth taking a look at also win98 attacks are quite low these days.
