Shine sink and taps - Tips needed?

For shining sinks and taps I use a sprayer with a mixture of Star Drops, white vinegar and water - the white vinegar brings them up lovely!

Poohbear59, I cleaned the oven, wiped all the appliances, cleaned the microwave (even the top which was hideous :o) and cleaned out the fridge with a damp cloth.

Got a really good tip, you probably already know this but for those of you who are new, try mixing bicarb of soda with lemon juice into a paste, put on the oven door and leave for a bit and then wipe off with a damp sponge. It's fantastic!! - can't believe how easily it cleaned the door for me as it was covered in greasy spots. For the microwave I cut half a lemon, squeezed the juice into a glass jug along with the lemon and then put in some warm water and put on defrost for 15 mins. Result: a very easy to wipe out microwave which smells lovely and fresh.:j:j

Get me - proper old style now aren't I :rotfl:

I need to do the blinds now but I really don't want to - oh, here I go ............

Hi everyone! DH has gone to do some work for his dad which will go toward paying for his van. I've got my light box on and have managed to do a few bits this morning - washed up a little bit, including my water filter and have put a new filter in it. Also have emptied my underwear and pj drawers and am going to have a sort out later when I've got a bit more energy again.

Toots could you let me have the link to the people who want old bras again? I remember you posting it but can't find it. Thanks xx

One question I have got, how do you all know what to write to people, I loose track about who posted what. Do you keep a notebook on the side and write down what to write?

I type out my post in a Word doc as I go along - saves me forgetting and also saves frustration if the internet crashes when you click submit reply, I've lost so many posts that way!

Hugs Kazm that sounds terribly stressful

Miss H sorry you had such a bad day but reading your posts is hilarious!

    Welcome Frankerooney and Robstergirl, Keys,

Dusty thanks, I’m going to get some probiotic yoghurt. I did tell the doctor last week that I had diarrhea and she just apologised and said it’s the anti-b’s. But honestly it feels burning hot acid coming out of me! Sorry, TMI again! I’ve nearly finished the course so it will clear up soon

Julie hope the interview goes well. What’s it for?

1 Step well done on what you managed at work today, you did really well. Thanks for the tip on the tummy too, see what I wrote to Dusty

Love and hugs to Lady Liberty, Diva, Tris and Michelle

Tomato may I ask what your first language is? I’m fascinated by different languages!

Pigpen :rotfl:at the mice in toaster thing – hmm, a toaster cover, someone could make a fortune, what a tag line that would be: got mice in your toaster? get the new toaster cover today and don’t eat mice droppings with your toast!

Helen hugs to your DD, I get lots of nightmares so can sympathize with her

Carol hugs to you and your BF

Lots of nightmares last night and really really tired today. Found it hard to drop off last night as was sleeping next to the Onion Man. Ug. DH had lots of raw onion with his kebab and was breathing in my direction. It was gross! It smelt like he'd smeared onion paste all over his body! I tried to keep my back to him as long as poss, but when my arm went dead I turned over, just in time for him to sneeze right in my face. Talk about onion breath! I lay there for ages thinking of what I could do:
    * put a pillow in front of his face without suffocating him,
    * erect some kind of barrier between us without it falling over
    * wake him up and tell him to clean his teeth(not really fair as he is ill and had work today)
    * drive to my mum's and sleep there (bit extreme as they live 25 miles away)
    * try and make some kind of air freshener and spray it all over him
    * put the light on and paint his face with make up (wouldn't help with the smell but would keep me amused)

Anyway, I dropped off eventually! LOL! Going to have lunch now and read my book, it's a good 'un!

Toots, I've just seen my penguin! Thanks so much, it's fab! I love it! Been waxed and had my eyelashes dyed.

Parcel has arrived, so need to unpack it (box will come in handy for packing up in advance of the builders' visit). I think the parcel is my new sheepskin-lined walking boots :j:j

House has aired while I was out, so need to close the windows and put the dehumidifier and heating on, then have a snack as I'll be having a late lunch, and get some work done before I have to go out again!

    see you later...

Dehumidifer emptied, another load of washing on, another in the TD. Mortgage statement opened... I've overpaid by £4k this year which is good news!

Tuesday ~ Kitchen, Utility and Dining areas
    Level One
    [STRIKE]Sweep and mop floors
    Declutter and wipe worksurfaces[/STRIKE]

    Level Two
    [STRIKE]Wipe ALL large appliances
Wipe and replace all small appliances[/STRIKE]

Scrub tiles.. and grout.. I have scrubbed grout with an old toothbrush and some bleach but am struggling to motivate myself to go back and rinse it off and polish the tiles... Hopefully ten minutes on here will help!
[STRIKE]Shine sink and taps[/STRIKE] Polished mine before bed last night and so I replaced this with cleaning the tops of the wall units. Not so hard as last time I did them I popped some paper on which has caught the grease so it was a quick wipe and new paper down!
    Level Three
[STRIKE]Throw away 10 items you have kept for ages but have absolutely no use for!..
    Clear and wipe window sills
Wipe table and replace cloth if necessary
    [/STRIKE]

    Extras
    1. [STRIKE]Muck out the fridge.. [/STRIKE]
    2. [STRIKE]Muck out the oven and hob [/STRIKE] I did this last week so it was just a quick wipe out for me today. Instead I have taken all the glassware out of the dresser, washed and polished it and replaced only what is used and in complete sets. The rest have been boxed and delivered to a friends DD who has just moved into her first flat. I cleaned the insides of the dresser too and polished the glass doors.
    3. [STRIKE]Muck out the microwave.. or other small appliance.. toasters with dead mice in spring to mind! [/STRIKE]
    4. [STRIKE]Tighten and wobbly pan handles!! [/STRIKE] I didn't have any of this and so instead I have sprayed some WD40 onto a squeeky hinge on my utility room and also put a quick squirt into a stiff lock whilst I was at it.
    Other bits for me today:
    • Plant up some tubs to put outside the front door.
    • Buy myself some flowers to make the lounge beautiful - I'm worth it!
    • Put a plastic crate into the kitchen and resolve to sort through one craft box a day and get rid of anything that I do not have a definate plan for into the crate to go to the local Mums and Tots group.
    • Forgive myself for the utter waste of money in doing the above.... Well try to. I am ashamed to think how many things I have accumulated but will never use. Why is the question.... perhaps I should scrub the flowers... :(

Not that successful but I emptied the kitchen bin, put the recycling out, dealt with the post, emptied the TD folding what I could straight away, brought folded stuff upstairs, counted odd socks (23!) and set ironing board up to iron other stuff.

Going to get on with ironing for however long it takes, reckon up to 45 mins.
