Sorry MissHiggerty, it isnt funny really but I couldnt help laughing - brightened my day up no end.

On the other hand, comiserations on the disaster(s); hope the rest of your day goes better.

Flying - decided that since it is spare room day and I thought I couldnt do anything in there, I would go in and at least start to tackle the mess. And whad'ya know? I tidied up all the balls of wool that were lying around and put them tidily in a big box, which I sghall label shortly orr I will forget what is in it and wont know where to find the wool when I need it! The room doesnt look a lot better, but at least the wool is all in one place now. Well, it was all in one place before, but now it is in one smaller place and not so spread around.

Also threw away bits and bobs that I found tangled with the wool and that were of no use whatsoever - such as a baby toy that hasnt been used for 11 years!

So, although not a huge amount, better than nothing.

Changed the bed too! (one of them - there are two I think, but one is lost under a huge heap of DH's camping gear at the moment - nowhere else to put it till other room is decorated and cupboards built and put in place).

Hi Rose – glad to see you posting
Ragz – come soon baby vibes to you!
Valli – hugs to you, you may not have talked to someone in the flesh but you have ‘talked’ to us
Jinks – your evil just like I was with my 3 when they were at school and like Valli is with her DS- they have to learn
PlayJo has the right idea with bi carb, but there must be something still there?

    Hello all :hello:

These threads are such an absolutely fantastic idea. Thank you Pigpen, Toots and Soappie for all the work you put in to make them so much fun and so effective :T. I had a go at flying a few years ago and I'm feeling inspired to give it another go. Last week I lurked and did quite well so I thought if I confess to trying, I might do even better .

I've got 2 DSs, a toddler and one of school age that I'm home educating, so flying is tricky to do around here. Anyway, here's how we're getting on so far:-

    Monday ~ Kiddies rooms/Spare rooms/Additional reception rooms
    Level One
    [STRIKE]Declutter and vacuum floors![/STRIKE]
    Strip and wash bedding/throws/[STRIKE]curtains[/STRIKE]
    Level Two
[STRIKE]Binbag dance[/STRIKE] (don't need to do this - do I have to do something else instead?)
Clear out a whole cupboard.. clothes, toys or just junk.. whichever needs it most! (halfway thru this)
    Wash 2 windows (done 1)
    Level Three
[STRIKE]Clean paintwork.. don't forget tops of frames and doors![/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Find 5 things to ebay/charity shop and list/take them straight away![/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Empty and wash out bins[/STRIKE]
    Extras
    1. [STRIKE]Clean out any pets/poo trays etc[/STRIKE] (don't have any pets)
    2. [STRIKE]Catch up on important phone calls/chase appointments[/STRIKE] (can't think of any)
    3. [STRIKE]Empty and clean out your handbag/coat pockets.. wherever you stuff your purse and receipts![/STRIKE]
    4. [STRIKE]HHI[/STRIKE] (never do any ironing!)
    Thank you for having me!

I am losing the will to fly!!!!
Went upstairs all prepared to get the boys room sorted, managed to change the beds. DS2 followed me up, and has covered the freshly decluttered floor with toys and clothes. I give UP!! Got to start all over again.
Think I'll start on the spare room/soon to be DS1 room declutter when we get back from school run. Sooner I get get it sorted, and DS1 moved in there the better. There is just nooooooo room for anything with them both in the same room atm.

Off to S&S kitchen, put boys bedding in WM then off on the school run.

Make him do it himself. Mine were tidying up as soon as they were able to take things out - they got them out so they put them away again. If they had made a huge mess, then they didnt do it all or all at once, but they werent allowed anything else out either.

Was going to post that i had told the teens at Christmas that my job title is mother not slave or dogs body.
Was going to say they can clean their own bl**dy room, or live in a pigs sty. Their choice!
    Have just read the thread.
    Am feeling very humbled:o.

Love to all and thinking of you,

LOL, I actually read back what I wrote and realised that he is 3years old, nearly 4 and quite capable of clearing up after hiomself. So I have sent him back up and he is to clear up all the toys he pulled out, and put the clothes on the bed for me to put away later( I have a thing about clothes being put away in the right place and the 'right' way so prefer to do that myself).

He is clattering around, shouting that he doesnt like me and I make him do 'everything' lol

Monday ~ Kiddies rooms/Spare rooms/Additional reception rooms = our one [STRIKE]Junk[/STRIKE] Spare Room

    Level One
Declutter and vacuum floors! Done Sunday, with Mr LW's help. (Wii box finally got lofted!):D
Strip and wash bedding/throws/curtains No bedding; cannot get curtains down myself.

    Level Two
Binbag dance Done; also decluttered some magazine stands to hand over at CAMRA AGM tonight.
Clear out a whole cupboard.. clothes, toys or just junk.. whichever needs it most! Top cupboard containing hats, scarves and gloves tidied out.
Wash 2 windows Done the ONLY window in there. It does have 2 panes – does that count?:o

    Level Three
Clean paintwork.. don't forget tops of frames and doors! Done all I can get to.
Find 5 things to ebay/charity shop and list/take them straight away! Everything for the RSPCA shop is in the box assigned for this purpose – cannot take it today as I cannot go to Newport Pagnell without my Carer.
Empty and wash out bins Done

    Extras
    1. Clean out any pets/poo trays etc N/A
    2. Catch up on important phone calls/chase appointments None outstanding; Mr LW has just booked our holiday!!:T
    3. Empty and clean out your handbag/coat pockets.. wherever you stuff your purse and receipts! Handbag still tidy from last time I did it; scrappy bits of paper get put straight in the recycling unless they're needed for bill reconciliation, when they go (tidily) on my computer desk. Coat pockets currently contain 1 pair of gloves and nothing else.
    4. HHI All cleared on Sunday. HHWii imminent.
Monday is as complete as I can manage.

Actually... I might institute this rule for myself :o except for water and tea in my study when I'm working (not faffing around on the net).

Dustykitten – beware if you have dogs as they all seem inexplicably drawn to fox poo. There is a fox inspects my hen house every night and sometimes leaves us gifts. We have to now clean up after the fox before letting the dog out....

Thanks but we only have 3 cats. Is fox poo a different shape - sort of bumpy - sorry if this is TMI but there was some on the front verge and it didn't look like dog and it certainly wasn't cat.

Hoovered all of downstairs - cats now all out in disgust
Cat bedding all in the wm

Just kitchen floor left to do.

Searching for a new kitchen plug which conveniently is european sized - oh idea! Need to text DH who is in France in a hotel - you can see where this is going can't you:o
