      Hi all
Well last week turned into a bit of a washout for me - felt really knackered and drained and although I did keep on top of most of it, I doubt i'd have qualified for any stars after the first day or two.

But had a really mad cleaning frenzy over the weekend so all is lovely again and ready to be flylady-ed. So I am halfway through the day's list and all going well so far plus I have/have to:

      Hi ladies

Thanks for the list Pigpen, thanks to Toots and soappie for the stars.

Think I will be flying from a distance this week as still have issues from yesterday that are a big cloud hanging over me.

Basically I got fed up yesterday with DD as she had trashed 3 rooms with her friend on Saturday and I told her to tidy them while I was shopping yesterday which she didnt. Then I went into the bathroom and found her clothes, boots etc in the middle of the floor where she had taken them off for a bath so I lost it, bagged them up and binned them. Her reaction - she threw a hissy and ran away. I told DH to ring her as I knew she wouldnt speak to me and he had a go at me for telling him what to do, so big upset there too. I took the car out but it was still about an hour or so before I managed to track her down but then she wouldnt get in the car. She eventually walked home but I was in a state by then and havent really got over it as dont know where to go from here. If anyone has any ideas would love some help but please PM as I wont have time to check the thread and that way it wont clog it up either.

Promise I will fly but like I said may not get to post or update but will try.

Love and hugs to all as I know some have serious problems that they are trying to deal with as well.

      Thanks for being there

      Take plastics for recycling
      Clean out cutlery drawer (yuk)
Sort through kitchen drawers and get rid of stuff
      Clean kitchen blinds
Clean French doors to room no-one enters as full of DH's carp

Make sure washing up is done after tea each night
[STRIKE]M[/STRIKE] - all done, worktops cleaned, sink shone and hob cleaned - all thanks to Star Drops! T W T F S S

Slow progress but I'm getting there. Not going to bust a gut for 5 stars this week but will do the best I can.

Can't do an awful lot with DS home today but am going to do my shopping list now. I got loads of recipes from the slow cooker recipe and the normal recipe threads and am all sorted with meals up until Tuesday week :T I am finding that I'm getting more used to planning meals but I have to be honest - it's not one of my favourite jobs!!

    • I knew it, really, when I put that ditzy avatar up.

"No good will come of it, Miss Higgerty," I said to myself, in the sternest voice possible. "If you try to fly in those stockings you'll just end up acting like an air-head."

So this morning I have been making stuff to take out to a friend's house tonight for a Burns' night supper (she is Scottish, and has caught a wild haggis). I promised:

      * Some dinky steamed puddings with whisky sauce
      * A loaf of home-made bread
      * A big bowl of bashed neeps and tatties. (well, swede anyway, not actually turnips)

So, having melted the puddings beyond recognition, I then came to cook the swede. And find I didn't buy one. And the village shop is closed on a Monday. :o

I did find a quarter of a swede in the fridge. So I cooked that. And it looked miserable; and furthermore it won't cook - it's still hard after *ages* in the Aga simmer oven, which normally cooks it a treat. [Sulk].

So I've found a butternut squash and I've roasted that and bashed it instead. At least the stuff is orange now.

Would Rabbie approve? Jinks, Toots, MacPep: reassure me!

p.s. I sprayed swede all over the kitchen trying to bash it; and I broke a glass bowl as well. I really think that avatar has to go.... ;)
p.p.s. I usually use recycled black plastic mini-pudding bowls from the 2-in-a-pack puds at M&S to cook steamed sponges in. (We used to get them a lot before I realised *just* how cheaply I could throw them together myself. But no lids.)
p.p.p.s. I only had Irish whiskey. It gets worse, doesn't it?

Gosh this thread moves so quickly it is hard to keep up!

Hellsbells45 – Thanks for the encouragement. I guess if your DD1 grew out of the problem there may be chance for DS3. Some days I feel a little despondent but hearing about other people’s successes really helps. Good to see your DD2 now has the appropriate TA.

Lil-me – The candles helped, thanks. We have already changed to laminate flooring and have a waterproof hospital type mattress to keep out the worst. Duvet and pillows are likewise. To avoid the need for so many chemicals I have been using some teatree oil inside my steamer and blasting everything in sight.

I read your post but wasn’t sure if it would be appropriate for me to answer being a newbie. I’ve decided that I would rather feel bad for something I’ve done than something I haven’t and so: Take soem of that weitght off your shoulders and share the burden... we don’t want you to get a hunched back and claim you can’t reach the cobwebs now do we??? But seriously, How’s your dad? He has been on my mind and I’m wishing him well.

Jo – I sprinkinkled the bicarb just as DH came home for a cuppa. He now thinks I have taken up performing satanic rituals when he goes to work. lol. Thanks for the tip. The smell is clearing.

Ceebeeby – The lavender bags are on my list of things to do this evening. I will let you know how they go.

      Vanilla
      – I’m not sure how old DS2 is but could you try a ping pong ball in the loo as a target to make a game of improving his aim? My kids didn’t notice the demise of our last goldfish for almost a fortnight after I flushed him. Hopefully yours will not be devastated by their loss either.

      Miss Higgerty
      – I have everything crossed for you for Thursday.

      Sarah2490
      – This is only my second week and so I haven’t earned my wings yet, but from where I’m sitting (with a steaming coffee and some HM twinks hobnobs- yum!) it looks like you are off to a flying start. Way to go!

      Dustykitten
      – beware if you have dogs as they all seem inexplicably drawn to fox poo. There is a fox inspects my hen house every night and sometimes leaves us gifts. We have to now clean up after the fox before letting the dog out....

      Jinky
      – I cant help with the step child problem as you will obviously know, whatever a step parent does is anyway- but have you considered an inflatable chimney pillow to stop the drafts from the chimney and also the soot from falling?

      Kazmeister
      – Your problem is no less significant than anybody elses!!! i hope your DD cust you some slack soon.

A big hug for anybody who needs one
      :kisses3:

Can I have a Monday star please Toots? I really earned it today!!!
