Have Lloyds TSB sent me the right debit card

someone

I set up a Under 19 account with lloyds for a Regular Savings Account
Anyway, just got my card in the post for the under 19's account and its a VISA card not a VISA Electron card
Have they sent me the wrong card? I thought you can't have a VISA debit card untill you 18 because it can let you go overdrawn

My daughter had a debit card when she was 17. When she went overdrawn the bank said the lower limit was 16 but only if in higher education.

Most of the time the visa electron and solo cards stop you geting overdrawn but sometimes this dose not work
do you know if she had a VISA card or a VISA ELECTRON?
Im in two minds wether to ask about it at Lloyds TSB becuse they might take it away (and it is their mistake). I know i will be able to manage the money unlike some so thats no problem. What do you lot think, should i ask or not?0 -
Some one i know whos 16 got a replacment card yeasterday and his is a VISA card so who knows whats happening0

LTSB no longer do Electron cards.
The visa card you now have is what they call a control card - ie it does exactly the same job as Electron in that transactions are verified to cleared balance before being authorised.0 -

or it should verify that balances are clear but doesnt always do this;)Compo challange:Amount won £0 Need to win £2400 -
These control cards do. They are new. Under the old electron system you could go to any link machine and take money out and there would be a time delay before the earmarking was put in place so you could go to a LTSB machine and withdraw the money again.0

I don't know if LTSB offer a 'basic' bank account, but previously banks that did would offer the basic Electron card. Does anyone know if LTSB now then offer a basic bank account with a 'proper' Visa?
I mean there surely is no risk to them if they are confident you can not go overdrawn with this card so why not?0 -

No cashpoint card only which only works in a LTSB machine, nowhere else.0
