Any mobile experts lurking?

Hi all.

I am looking at getting a new mobile. I will sort the tariff out at a later date, but would appreciate some advice on the phones available at the moment...

I currently have an old Samsung (G600 I think), and there is nothing wrong with it, but its a bit old and shabby and I want something new and shiny :o

I like Samsungs, and have had SEs before too. Have also had Nokias, so Im not too tied to any brand.

Would like something that is good for the internet, fast and reliable. Had a look at HTC ones, but my brain is frazzled as every website has a different opinion!!

Could anyone help at all, would be very grateful!!

If you want Applications the IPhone, Google Android phones (like HTC Hero) and finally Nokia symbian (N95, N97, 5800 etc) are good choices.

If you want the best camera the SE Satio is fantastic and uses a modified version of the 5800 symbian OS, so does have some apps for it too!

Do you like or dislike touch screens? The two types are the IPhone (use a finger) or the Nokia 5800 (use a styles). Differs really on one is a big finger and the other is more precise like a finger nail, thus defines how the phone can be interacted with.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies

Can't really look past the iPhone, although if you don't want to spend that sorta money or want something different, how about the HTC Bravo, due out in March

The Blackberry curve 8900 is a good all rounder. Even has a spell check feature for txts! You can get youtube and msn etc for net. www.yourmobilephonereviews.co.uk is worth a look.

How about the Samsung Tocco Ultra. Quite a good all round phone, with both touchscreen and slider like the G600 so best of both worlds. 8mp camera, and expanable memory. I haven't a clue what the browser is like though, not up to the standards of an iPhone or HTC but as a starter phone it's well reccommended.
