Hi there.
We have had Sky+ now for 5 years, the Sky is in my wife`s name. Virgin have got a deal on at the moment with a free V+HD box and free installation, If we go there for what we want it would be cheaper for us, but if we can get the Sky+HD offer for new customers then well rather stay with Sky, as it would cost about the same but with more HD channels.
So my question is would it be possible for my wife to cancel her Sky and then can I apply as a new customer. Would Sky say no because we are a couple and it`s the same address or can`t they do nothing about it as I would in reality be a new customer.
regards SP

It's not a free VM HD+ box,it's free set up of the box, unlike Sky,you DO NOT own any of VM's kit, your 'renting' it.
That's why you dont pay for service calls with VM ever but with Sky,you do.
As for your question,I doubt it as an address check would show previous subscriber names at your address & that you've recently cancelled plus the same surname.

I don`t really care that you don`t own the box. and also why is there virgin boxes on fleebay, not that i care just a question.0

Well, we got rid of Sky. Sky+ cost`s us 540 for the year, if you get the sky deal with HD it comes to the same for a new customer, actually a bit more as you have to pay a one of 79 for installation and the box or 109 if you are a current customer. Now with Virgin it cost`s us 472 a year plus with 65 cashback it really cost`s only £407 for the next year that`s a saving of £133 for the next year PLUS I can sell my Sky+ box for a few pounds on evilbay.
And who cares that I don`t own the V+HD box I saved 133+ and I can or my wife can go back to Sky next year get a good deal plus cashback from a cashback site.
