What a lot of rubbish.0

I thought the 70% club were an "I believe, hand on heart, in perfect faith...that prices will drop by 70% from their peak within the next few years."
Rather than, "I want a castle/ county/ country pad[delete as appropriate] and I can only get it if prices drop by at least 70%."Sometime it comes over to me as the same thing.:o
I am of the view that prices will drop real terms by about half from peak but it will take about 10 years from now.....which could be good timing.:D
In truth, I am of the view that you cut your cloth according to the moment (or as near as) and plan accordingly.
A few people on this board have bought recently (or are buying) and it's the best thing for them to do now (in terms of their life and where they want to be)....rather than put life on hold for ever and ever until The BIg One.
One of the absolute best exchanges I have read on here for a while! It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

That photo makes me sad.

Makes me angry.....anything to to do with captive wild animals and human entertainment upsets me a lot but there's little one can do really (apart from 'protest'. I know animals in circus' are banned in UK so it's a start.lostinrates wrote: »That photo makes me sad.

I agree. And hesitated briefly over thanking it. But the monkey has a dignity about him that makes him worth a thankyou, even if the men in the background don't.lostinrates wrote: »That photo makes me sad.

He does, doesn't he, but that makes it even more heart wrenching, he looks exactly ''dignified'' and proud. And tbf he looks healthy and clean, but just...so sad.
I'd love, love, love a monkey or a loris, but I think too much of them to indulge myself and ruin a little life.

Yep, I thought about 50% down. Will it, dunno. Al I know is that what I am looking at as the retirement pad is certainly encouraging. Looking to move from the South West back toward London. I was nicely surprised that in a very nice village where my late cousins wife lives, the 2 bedroom retirement flats are quite affordable and very nice surroundings.
I am told that there is a great surplus of that type of property, indeed I know of some that were built a number of years ago are still not sold so quite good news.
Right now a house on three floors is OK but don`t fancy it when older.0 -
