Error Report

I get an error report every time I close down Internet Explorer (regardless of which website I look at - home page is MSE).
This has been evident since I downloaded and ran ccleaner. Could I have 'cleaned' out something vital? Should I go back to before downloading ccleaner?
I also get an occasional error on closing but the system closes down before I can read the dialogue box. Have regularly udpated XP SP2 but still happening.
Any ideas please?

we need a bit more information.
what kind of error message is it?0 -
It is the Microsoft - send error report.
Having viewed the details it comprises of 20 modules and would take up at least two pages in Word IF I could copy and paste it.
The only other thing I have changed recently is I downloaded the Google toolbar - could that be the culprit instead? There is always light within the dark0 -
Try disabling the google toolbar also check to see if you have any add-ons running. Disable them all and then enable them one by one until you find the culprit (I have recently had trouble with a couple telling me something about C++).
If that doesn't work I would try reinstalling your browser or running a 'repair installation' from your original Windows CD.

Sorry for my ignorance but how do I check if any add-ons are running? There is always light within the dark0

I am going to have to do some work here (instead of playing on the boards
) but assuming you are using IE6 there should be an option on the toolbar (possibly under 'Tools' that says something like 'manage add-ons' .. you can enable and disable them in there).

I can't help thinking that if you are running XP, then if you goto "start\run" then type "eventvwr" and press Ok. Then from the resulting box, click on Applications, order the entries in time order, then look for the corresponding entry, there should be a red "X" denoting a problem, double click the entry and it will show an "event id", copy those details here and it may give someone a clue as to what the problem maybe.
HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0
