    Nice comp. Many thanks.
Bloody silly T&C though...can't sublet, so it's standing empty all the time you're not there? Can't see that working out lol

Maybe that just means you can't charge people to stay there? They might allow friends and family to stay at no charge. And if you win, there's plenty of MSE friends who wouldn't say no to a free holiday :D:rotfl:

Sorry to bump :o but personally I would site this prize as close as possible, and spend as much time there, including weekends, as I could and my children would love it! ;)

Only for the first three years (also cannot be sold for the first three years), which sounds reasonable as the park fees are being paid for, for the first 3 years.

    Great comp! Thanks OP!

I have stayed at the Haven Primrose Valley site at Filey, and apart from it being a really, really nice place perfect for families, this prize would effectively become a small business as a lot of caravans there ARE subletted and managed by the site owners (hence the 2k fee)...so it's a holiday or two for your family and income for the rest of the year.
Assume the value of the prize isn't 40k, but whatever it's worth after depreciation over about 10 years plus about 7 years rental income minimum ..examples of prices are here for rental prices http://www.haven.com/parks/yorkshire/primrose_valley/offersatthispark/index.aspx?location=&parks=PV&holidaytype=HB,SC

Hope an MSEr wins it :)

PS. It IS silly not being able to sublet it. That means unless you have massive family with no problem being on holiday weeks on end, you'd have to break the T&C to use it for more than a few weeks in 3 years. The van would be yours, the prize includes rental...also part of the prize, so why not rent it out? Selling, fair enough...I can see that being fair to limit...but they should at least allow you to eran the 4th year fee by renting it out in the 1st 3 that you own it. IF you don't, it's going to mean a 2k bill arriving one day that requires paying from your own pocket prior to it earning a penny isn't it?

It might not work out well.............:D

Participating Parks are not open year round and may be close during Winter - Prize is a holiday home and may not be used for residential use. Proof of permanent residence of winner will be required.

Sublet means charging people to stay there , so you could let family and friends stay there no problem. If I won I would be in there as much as possible.
Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Birmingham Childrens Hospital caring for my tiny and very poorly grandson who was born at 29 weeks. Thanks to them he is getting a little stronger every day.:A:A:A
