mac code after 3 years?

We were with tiscali broadband back in 2006 and cancelled when the 12 month contract was up. Didnt take up another broadband offer and now wish to get a contract with sky.

Do we still need a mac code and would talktalk be able to help since they took over tiscali?

Any help would be great

  • A MAC is used to transfer live working broadband from one isp to another if you dont have broadband you dont need a MAC.
If there is a tag on your line (this can happen if your old isp does not cancel the broadband) your new isp should help you resolve any issues with orders for a new broadband service.
Its unlikely you will have any issues with a new broadband order if its 3 years since you cancelled your old service.

    Hi Thea,

As Syko says MAC's are only used to transfer an active service. If you no longer have an active broadband service there should not be a tag on your line at the moment. Should you find your chosen new provider requires the removal of a tag from your line you would need to contact the customer service line for TalkTalk customers migrated from Tiscali as the main TalkTalk customer services team will not be able to assist.

    Cheers
