lost my phone

i was on holiday and lost my mobile, on vodafone contract, i had recently upgraded and the new phone was the one i lost.
What i want to know is will vodafone offer me a phone for free due to the fact i lost mine. II am going on the theory that if i dont have a phone they will not make any extra money out of me and therefore may offer me some thing.
Has anyone experienced this.

Why should they offer you a free phone to replace the one that you lost? If they did that to everyone who had their phone lost or stolen, they would soon be out of business.0

not unless you had replacment insurance.
they will still get the money from you as part of the contract
make sure you have told them to block the sim or you will get a very big bill0 -
Unfortunately unless you have insurance they won't give you another phone. You still have to pay your line rental regardless so they'll still make money for the remaining term on your contract. If you didn't have insurance it's up to you to replace the phone if it goes missing/gets stolen.Sigless0

A few weeks ago, my daughter lost her mobile after visiting my sister for the weekend. When she returned home we rang T Mobile to inform them that the phone was lost and that my sister was going to ring all the places they had visited to see if anyone had handed it in. T Mobile said that they would block the phone immediately. So we spent the next two weeks making sure that the phone wasn't simply lurking around the house or my sisters house. After lots of searching and asking places they had visited we rang T Mobile to say that it was definately lost and could they send us another phone as it was insured against lost or theft. They passed us onto the insurance company you said that the insurance that we had been paying for months was invalid as we hadn't informed within 48 hours that the phone waws lost.
I am so angry as I thought we were doing the right thing - making sure it was truly lost - they are refusing to replace the phone and we have now had to pay Tmobile £10 for a new sim and are currently looking to buy another sim free mobile as we are locked into another 9 months on the contract
