Unlocked 3 phone on Orange

My daughter has bought a new clamshell type phone that was supposed to be on the 3 network but has been unlocked so that she can use it with her old Orange sim.

However, she can't send or receive picture messages/videos on it and we're told that Orange need to send a code to the phone to enable these functions (my other daughter has a bone fida Orange phone and has been told this because her wouldn't send/rcv either).

Anybody any idea how Orange are likely to react to sending this code to a phone that isn't actually an Orange phone? Will they care or is it only 3 that are likely to be unhappy about it?

you will need your sim updating
orange cust services will do this no problem (as it means you spend money with them)
may also need other settings sent to phone
weather they can do this depends on the phone model

I don't think it's the SIM as she's been sending picture messages on her old phone (that the SIM was originally in).

I suppose I'll just have to take a chance and call them and hope they don't say anything about it being a 3 phone.

How comes we mother's always end up doing our daughter's dirty work?
