Repeats on TV.

Has anyone else noticed the amount of programmes shown on Terrestrial TV has increased in frequency?

For example,Channel 5 are showing "Patch Adams" today (23/01/10) at 1715Hrs & again NEXT Saturday at 1210Hrs.
or
Rick Stein's Christmas Oddesy, far from being new,it was rehashed Far Eastern Oddesy with a new commentry & footage added.

Sky as we all know repeat their programmes so often you can recite the script! With the amount of money we pay via Subscription & TV Licence.is'nt it about time the TV companies invest more in new progrmmes?

alot of the digital channels are just automatic with the shows lined up to play without much human involvement - Which is why some of the commercial breaks are timed at pretty stupid places. Cheap way of getting shows on air is to buy up old shows and repeat them again and again.
Unfortunately they are not oblidged to make any new shows, which is a pity.
Although most new shows are just copied ideas from other shows by jumping on a bandwagon again and again until the idea wears so thin its transparent.

    Antiques shows
    Home Improvement Shows
    Property Shows
    Reality (and Celebrity reality) shows
Air your dirty laundry in public (Jeremy Kyle) shows
. . and on it goes.
Don't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig
