Today i made a Tres Leches Cake, but it hasnt worked out how it should, the cake bit came out lovely then you !!!!! all over with a fork and pour over a mixture of evap milk, condensed milk and double cream then leave in fridge to steep through but hours later its just sitting on top of the cake  so i cant put the icing on top, i might have to pour the mixture off in the morning and then ice it, oh well another one put down to experience :(

ETA actually left overnight and in the morning it was much better so turned out in the end and was very nice

Cheesecake in the oven and French rolls waiting to go in. I only recently discovered the French method - a bowl of boiling water at the bottom of the oven and dough also brushed with water before baking. Makes such a nice crust :)

I'm going to do either a lemon and poppy seed tea loaf,a madeira cake or a seed cake.

Anyone have a good recipe for sand cake or pound cake?

Haven't been here for a while but would like some advice. I bought one of these Nordicware Jubilee Bundt pans (large) from Lakeland today at 40% off, it came to just under £20. Its good quality, but I'd like to gather opinions from regular bakers on whether I have paid too much? I can't help but think that Aldi or Lidl will churn out their own versions in due course. Opinions please.

Tried jack monroe's white chocolate tea bread for the second time today and both times it had been brilliant, such a cheap easy recipe! I'm sure it's going to become a household staple.

That sounds lovely- I fancy giving it a go today. Thanks for the inspiration! :D
