Yeah, we have a policy to never allow poor diseased complicated people into the capital :p

Money is very tight so activities have to be free/cheap! Going to a little egg hunt later for Piglet - I have great fun hiding mini eggs round the house...which is fine until you locate a "lost" one growing fur 6 months later!!:rotfl::rotfl: Also going to sit with him and make home-made easter cards for everyone. Should be nice messy fun!:D

Hi Miss P, your plans with piglet sound much nicer than the cinema/fast food outlet - don't worry about tight money. I'm sure doing things like you have planned will leave a longer memory than the commercial endless spends in a retail outlet and much more laughter too!

Miss P I know meeting my mother :(- its part of my 'try to reconnect with the lady who is my biological mother' - hard as she's not interested - but I've no dad and no grandparents - so somehow or other I am trying to make her be a bit 'motherly'

Can't say its working but I get a gold star for trying.

Well done for trying - you're doing your bit and you're not responsible for someone else's behaviour - even your mother.

Do whatever you need to to bring your mind some peace with this matter (meaning be how you want to be with your mum, not block it out with alcohol)

Good luck x

I think we must have quite the list of Out Laws locked up in The Tower of London by now! I often think of Jo's being in there when I go passed on my way to work, I'll add Miss P's to the mental list :D

Morning everyone! Reporting in with my April AF Day 1 - so glad you did that 96 hour challenge Sparkles, thanks. Lovely to wake up un-hungovered. Miss P - I feel your pain, I too have had horrendous in-law problems over the years - it's only now that I can remain calm and sometimes even take a deep breath and answer them back. You're such a lovely mum to Piglet, have a fab day. Rise above the bl**dy in-laws, it's not worth the stress xx

You never know, you're Mum might actually secretly be enjoying your attempts at getting her to be motherly?? ;)

:rotfl::rotfl:At the teaspoon and the biscuits....may just resort to spitting in her tea though.... I never said I was a lady!!!

Miss P
xx

She's busy - got the dogs to walk today and do her grocery shopping. Give her a shout next time (3-6 months):o

I did venture that I to have a dog and I too need to shop but she's just said she'd rather just get on herself.

Thanks for all the good wishes - sparkles you're right its an issue I have to try and tackle - but I've tried and tried - she's just not interested.

HB - make sure that tower of your's has plenty room - will make sure this diseased lunatic heads northward.

Pah to rubbish mummies.

Miss P - enjoy piglet pants today - I'm off to spoil one of my BF's DS's :) no kids of my own to annoy so we thought we'd feed him ice-cream til he's green:rotfl:(joke)

PS sorry for the moan re mother - she's been like this since I was born - so I dunno why I think she's going to change. If you don't have 4 legs and a tail (horse or dog) she's not interested :) hey ho - all the more ice-cream for me :)

• To all folk having issues with in-laws etc

I had a turning point, not with in laws but irritating friends, when i really got the fact that 'You cant change anybody, you can only change yourself'

Which I suppose it summed up beautifully by the Serenity Prayer.

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

I guess in-laws fall into the cannot change catergory.

DS is at a friends for the morning. I am doing my usual trick when I have too much to do-do nothing!

Must get off my bum and do something, anything. Anyone else get that feeling that they are losing control, i.e ironing piled high, mess everywhere, paperwork overdue.

Just don't know where to start!!
