So the OP's Wife carelessly damaged the neighbours car, and you are suggesting stitching the poor innocent neighbour up by any means available.
Nice one.:(0 -
Just because the only visible sign is the deep scratch doesn't mean the bumper isn't damaged internally - meaning that the next time someone bumps into it the car it won't be able to absorb the impact.
The innocent third party ought to get the bumper checked out at the body shop as it may have internal shock absorber/crumple zones and need replacing.0 -

C'mon his username is the banker, aren't all bankers out to stitch everyone up at the moment?!!Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -
Was it worth it, OP, telling your neighbour you touched her bumper?
How did she find out exactly?
I imagine had she been in the car she's the sort who would have claimed for a neck injury.0 -
(Do unto others etc....................)
I don't think it's a principle that the neighbour subscribes to....... would she accept someone who already has a tatty bumper wanting a new bumper if it was the other way around?
Also, if someone scratched my already tatty bumper, and they told me, I would tell them to forget about it. If I walked out one day and saw a new scratch on my already tatty bumper, I would not be bovvered that the third party did not leave their details.
So when you think about it, I would do unto others as I would have them do unto me. The Rev would be proud0 -

Its the principle of it. If my neighbour put a minor scratch in my bumper and told me i'd probably say not to worry it matches the others. But if they didn't tell me and another neighbour told me they saw them hit my car I would be p1ssed and I would want it fixed.
At the end of the day its up to the owner of the car if she wants it fixed or not, if you hit someone its your responsibilty to tell them and see what they want to do about it.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0
