Engine not starting... Any advice?

All fuses seem intact, in engine and in glove box. Oh says 1/4 tank fuel and the only warning light that came on when last driven was the warning for hand brake/ break fluid. Appreciate the time given on this!
Is the car parked facing downhill?
Some VW models show that they have more fuel than they actually have in this position.0 -
Could push/tow it a few streets from where you live I suppose - to be honest the advice you're gonna receive here is limited because it could be a number of things stopping the car from starting
Either that or ring a local garage on Monday and explain the problem and they may come and tow your car in to look at - can any family or friends recommend a good garage?

The dash unit may have broken, dunno if that would stop the car from starting, solution, get one from a scrappy and see if it works, but I'd rule out the "instrument panel" fuse before doing that, take the correct fuse out and look at it properly and if possible double check with an ohmeter.
One way to test the fuse is that they are often doubled up with other things, such as rear numberplate lights, if these lights work the fuse is ok. But you're going to have to look in your manual for a fuse guide....0
