That article is almost 4 years old.

Not in the same boat as the foreign ones that fill up before they hit the UK.

And yes it is 4 years old but the political suggestion of raising petrol prices to discourage motoring is much older.

And why do you think that? The goods have to be hauled, the vehicles have to be fueled, the price of goods may increase slightly. Enforcement of strict fuel levels allowed to be taken on the ferries and tunnel of all lorries will ensure it is not a case of lorries filling up on the continent and taking work away from the ones who are not going to/from the continent.
