help and advice needed-re: tv connection

Not sure if this is the right place to post but was needing some advice please.
I have always had a portable tv with freeview box. the tv was fine with an indoor ariel and freeview was intermittant, dependant on weather and who was jumping around upstairs.
Anyway my family gave me and my son money for xmas with which we purchased a 32in flat screen hd ready and built in freeview. Herein the problem lies

1) it doesn't work on the internal booster arieal
2) we have no external ariel
3) housing association will not place an ariel-fair enough it appears costly
4) so looking for sky, virgin or bt package, which is best for a low budget and is this my only option?
5) my son hesitant to change his broadband provider as they are good, but he needs a bt line for this-could we keep this and have another package say with sky or virgin?

External aerial cost us £128, fitted. That's got to work out cheaper in the long run - if you are allowed to put one up

The cost of an external aerial is dependent on your location, nobody can give you an exact figure, somewhere between £75 and £200 is a rough figure.

HI, had the arial installed today and all is fine, decided longterm it was better value, than being tied into a contract, when i'm not bothered by extra channels ect.
