Questions on moving phone/broadband

I've been with TT on Talk 3 for a few years now and I haven't had any problems apart from the initial transfer from BT and lack of usage at peak times. I would like to find out what other providers/packages I could change to as I would like unlimited broadband. I don't want to join the TT members forum because I'd rather not let TT know I'm looking around, until I know what my options are, especially as I have read so many horrer stories. I have some questions - can anyone help.

When my initial 18month contract with TT ended, I refused to sign up for another contract, but I have read on MSE that TT will do it without the customer's permission, can they do this?

If I stay with TT, can I get unlimited BB added on to Talk 3 and would I have to sign up to another 18month contract?

I am LLU'd to TT (I dialled 17070 and I got the message 'This circuit is defined as 01........' ) so does that mean I can only to go back to BT? BT are so expensive!

If I use a site like Samknows, do they pass my phone number on, and will I get sales calls?

Will using sites like Samknows mean that TT will know I am looking around?

Any advice welcome!

You are unduly paranoid, samknows does not sell on your number, and TT do not trawl the boards looking for potential deserters.
To move your broadband away from TT you would first have to have your line moved away from TT's LLU service. if you get the 'options' message after 'this circuit is defined as...' then it is still a recognised BT number.
The only unltd TT service (with FUP) is TT Pro at £14.99.

Don't forget that if you are fully LLU'd by talk talk ( i.e broadband and phone) you will have to transfer your line back to BT first.
Around £125 but they may have an offer on.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Macman - I didn't get an options message afterwards, just the same message repeated over and over, so I must be LLU'd. I didn't mean to sound paranoid but I have no idea how these things work and I read somewhere on MSE that someone had been called by providers after using Samknows, and I didn't think TT would trawl trhough for deserters but I just don't want to get drawn into having another contract until I know what I am able to do.

Penryn - looks like I have no choice but to stay were I am or go back to BT.
