Forget the encrypted sticks. They are a rip off at £60. Just use Truecrypt, it's free.

the only problem with Truecrypt and a good few others is that in some companies disable you from installing s/w so you are not able to run or install the exe :(

It's 'suck it and see' as a lot of companies also block the running of non-registered executables so encrypted sticks will fail as well.

If you are using Windows 7 (Ultimate and Enterprise editions) then you could use the excellent BitLocker Drive Encryption.

I asked about software independent encrypted hard drives a while ago. There are some suggested solutions on there, although they are for hard drives and not USB flash memory sticks. Does anyone know of any such products for Flash Drives?

Why don't you create a truecrypt container on your hard drive or USB drive, Stick a portable copy of the truecrypt software on the same drive and carry it with you wherever you go. You can then run the software from the portable drive itself and decrypt the encrypted volume. Very easy and safe...................
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????
