Well I would wait to see if you get sent a Notice to Owner personally.
As others have said they are not likely to find you with a wrong reg number - and if they do then you have a safe appeal point re the PCN showing the wrong reg number. You could also throw in the fact at that stage, that you have a disabled badge and this is the first ticket you have ever incurred (is it?), to give the Council a simple 'get-out' chance to cancel itas a one-off.
Either way I can't see you ending up paying this fine so why worry how it pans out. Win-win situation for you!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Don't worry about it. I parked at my sister-in-laws house when we visited her, was only inside the house about 10 mins looking for a visitors parking permit and I got a ticket. Stupidly I wrote to the Council concerned and they wouldn't cancel the ticket. Then I noticed the registration number was incorrect and didn't pay. I haven't heard anything back from them and it was in Feb 2009 when the ticket was issued.0
