Applied for JSA online - No call within 2 days?

Hi guys,
partner applied for JSA online last week, and at the end of the application they said they would call him within 2 days for further questions.
They havent rang him yet and was wondering how long we should wait? Should we ring them? or does it take a few days longer because so many people are applying?
Thanks
Edit:
Also, dont seem to be able to sign onto his account on the website so cant view a status or anything!

Can you clarify if it is JSA online where they take the full claim and call back with appointment details or the one where they take basic details online and call back to take the actual claim?
It's academic because, in either case, my advice is to call them ASAP, but I'm curious0 -
I was going to say don't bother phoning go in to see them but you have to phone to get an appointment! ok so long as you still have a phone.
make sure you put in a complaint they are probably still having staffing problems!0 -
I would phone them up as soon as you can.
When I applied I didn't get a phone call within the two days but left it a little bit longer as I assumed they were so busy. They only took my claim from when I chased them and phoned up, not when I applied online.0 -
My friend had this problem, when making a claim. He ended up calling them instead. He told the staff that he applied online, and gave the application printed on the screen. The staff said they can't find it.... :eek:0

The facility for claiming JSA online is just a bit of window dressing to make the benefit system seem more up-to-date and 'user friendly'. The process is not linked up with the existing Customer Management System and this causes all sorts of problems & delays.
We Jobcentre Plus staff are supposed to promote the facility, but quite frankly, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Each claim still requires someone in a busy BDO to pick up the form, check it , and make an appointment for the applicant at their local Jobcentre.
In my experience online applicants rarely get an interview date within 3 days of inital contact, and the processing of your claim will usually take longer than if you had applied by phone.
Phone applications may not be a barrel of laughs, but the system is tried & tested.
The number is you want is 0800 055 6688.

To note if you use a mobile with a mainstream company (except Talktalk) from Monday then the 08000 556688 claim number should be free.
Otherwsie I would speak to your local JCP office and see if they can pick it up and book you an appointment and get a JSA1Nothing to see here :beer:0 -
There is a known problem with online claims. Make sure to keep your reference number. Phone the number above (as if to made a brand new claim from the day you phone). Complete a JSA5 form at the jobcentre to backdate , explaining what has happened. On the Jobcenter/ Contact Centre computer system your claim should be noted. Word if advice though - if they tried to call you back and there was no answer, the backdating will be disallowed. Usually the reference number will be enough (proof of claim)0

wait... what? I'm not saying you're lying but I can't believe that0 -
Why do you not believe that. In the declaration at the end, it states you will be called back within 48 hrs. If you are not available to take the call to answer the full questions, then they can assume you no longer wish to pursue the claim. ( and do not have an answering machine/ wrong callback number ) As I said, the Contact centre computer system will hold all the information and the outcome of all attempted callbacks.0
