In which scheme is your deposit protected?
  • On the 22nd of January you said that you had "just given up" the property. Has the 28 days expired yet?

As I explained before the landlord will probably need some time to get quotes for the work which needed to be done an then instruct them to carry out the work. They may not even have received the bills for payment yet.

It sounds like you might have left the house in a mess and now you want everybody to jump when you say "jump". That could be interpreted as being a trifle unreasonable

Deal with this situation in writing by recorded delivery, and do not confuse perceived poor management during the tenancy with perceived poor condition of the property at the end of the tenancy.

Thanks , but didnt leave the house "in a mess" , gave 2 months notice to leave on 18-11-09 and agreed to hand keys over 18-01-2010.
actually moved out 09-01-2010 to the house we bought (about 50 yards down the road)
Spent the 10th 11th and 12th repainting the house (living room , stairs , kitchen ,and 2 bedrooms as one didnt need painting.) and glossing doors and frames
Spent half a day on the 17th cleaning the kitchen floor and cupboards and making sure everything would be acceptable.
Wasnt offered the chance to go along to the final inspection .
Like i said in previous posts I am very polite and really dont like to cause any fuss , but maybe my problem is expecting others to be as fair as me.
i certainly dont expect anybody to jump through hoops for me.Usually its the opposite.
First time we have ever rented and damn sure the last time we ever will.
