Hi Guys

I really need your help!

My dearest other half went to the beach the other day and had a bottle of suntan lotion in her bag which has leaked all over her D600 on orange.

It has completly ruined the phone and orange will do nothing to help unless she spends at least £200!

The other suggestion I have made for her is to buy a prepay phone on orange and use that?! She has her eyes set on the Samsung D800 can anyone help me find a cheap unlocked one?

Or does anyone have any other suggestions

Cheers for all your help

Matt

Ouch! Who says "sun screen works"?! :D

Never fear, I have a few options!

Pixmania have the D800 for £189 sim free. The phone (through them anyway) is "normally" £307! There is a delivery charge of £7.

Having gone to order the phone myself, it's not as cheap as it seems. You have to pay £210.17, which is an extra £14.18 for some type of warranty. There is a £10 voucher that I know works, but I don't think I can post it here, so if you want, I can PM it to you and anyone else who would like it. That ends up making it £200.17.

Or, if you want to save a few quid, you can go through https://www.mphone.co.uk for £195.94 (£189.18 and £5.75 for Special Delivery.)

It's not too far away from the £200 that Orange want, but then you may not getting the phone you want!

I'll have a bit more of a look, but I haven't seen a better deal yet!

Edit 1: I should add though, if you have a Quidco account, you could go through Quidco and get 3% (about £5.50) cashback!

Edit 2: https://www.foneplanet.com have it for £189.99 and offer free delivery (can take up to 7 days though) if you order 2 or more items. The cheapest item I have found is an o2 PAYG SIM Card for £9.99. No Quidco cashback for this site. It's not that much of a better deal, but if you can find a cheaper item then maybe it would be, but only just.

Can I just say that if you decide to buy a phone from ebay be VERY VERY careful, especially with a new model like the D800.. i've just been scammed on there - I thought i'd been careful but not nearly enough.

Basically, find a seller not just with good feedback but with the paypal insurance cover icon on the listing itself. Pick someone who is obviously in the business of selling phones if possible. If you choose to go for a seller that doesn't fit these criteria, at the very least pay by credit card through paypal - at least then you'll have comeback with your CC company if you get duped.

    Good luck with it!
