  • I think you are losing sight of the question. The poster was looking for some help finding a vacuum cleaner that they can afford not to be belittled because they are trying to live within their budget. The forums are supposed to offer help.

    I also do not agree with the statement that buy cheap buy twice. I have paid for expensive top of the range cleaners and also bought cheap ones. My current one was £50.00 out of Asda and has lasted longer than the previous one which was nearer £200.00.

    Have a look in Currys. The Vax one at £43.49 might fit the bill.
  • I've had the Vax 044 Cadence for about a year now. Great vacuum, very powerful suction and on-board turbo tool for stairs, etc and I wash the filter in the washing machine with no probs. Think I paid £60 or £70 for it.
