I checked today and its right. I bet they won't want to reduce by £25pm direct debit!! I think I'll build up a reserve for a couple of months then give them a call.

You say it is right. but is it YOURS?

Turn off all taps in the house, go and read the last 3 digits on the meter - these are a different coluor to the rest. Go back in and draw 5 litres of water from the cold tap. Go back to the meter and read those last 3 digits again. Have they moved on by 5?

You really do need to check..Do what DV has suggested as water companies can and DO go back 6 years for billing so if there is a problem and you are being under charged or charged on the wrong meter they will try to get it all back.
1m3 in that time frame would seem like a little used property..Just the odd toilet flush etc not somewhere "lived" in..

You can call the water company and ask that they come out and show you which meter is yours and do a flow test but try the above first..

If the meter serial number on your bill is not yours then best to tell them now rather then wait for the person who is really only using 1m3 getting in touch with them
