He was under the impression Police were being called in from accross the country. They did when the one in Brum happened, I just called an officer from Newcastle for a trial relating to it.
Personally, on days like tomorrow I'm ashamed to admit I'm from Stoke.
They were leafleting the last Stoke home match, probably hoping to latch on to our "hooligan element". I've also been told this week that some EDL members were leafleting a local high school prompting officers to go into the school and talk to the kids.0 -
To be fair, both are as bad as each other. To me, it appears that both factions have a political element who, rightly or wrongly speak up for what they believe but both attract a hooligan element, the edl's latching onto the "patriotic" side of things and the UAF's comming in under the human rights part. The vast majority just want to beat the living daylights out of each other regardless of politics. The problem is when this starts, mob mentality come into play and teens and young adults from the locality get easily sucked into the fighting when they have little of no idea of who or what they're fighting for. It's really quite strange, the following day, at the remand court you see 25% staunch supporters from all over the country who travelled to the protest and the other 75% are kids from the local area who joined in a fight they saw.0

I wish I could thank this a dozen times. I feel you are spot on with everything you have said there.
Lets hope it passes with minimal violence and not further tars a city already "boasting" a large amount of BNP support.0 -

MDW
You will be fine I'm sure
If you haven't been before, Straight down the A500 and look for the signpost for Leek (I think Festival Park is also listed on it) come off at that slip road, turn left, stay in the left hand lane and go to the next roundabout (don't go over the flyover).
A left at that roundabout puts you onto Festival Park.0 -

Ive banned pet teenager from going within 5 miles of the place tomorrow. I can begin to imagine the trouble it will cause.
What a laugh - I went shopping in Hanley today, businesses were not open as normal, Boots shut at 4pm and all the Potteries centre was locked so no-one could get in or out....it was a waste of time!0 -
