Some advice needed please.
My 18 yr old son ordered himself a contract phone from Mobiles.co.uk and was told they were doing security checks. Today a phone, completely different to the one he ordered, turned up complete with PS3 and games. He phoned the company and was told there had been an error and she would send him an email to let him know about returning it. She said she had no idea WHY he had been sent it as the information in front of her said they were still doing checks.
Email arrives and say he must pay for return postage and they will refund it after. I then phoned and said I was refusing to pay the postage for the parcel as it was their mistake and she said he would be held in a contract IF they didn't recieve it in 2 days!!!
C.A.B is closed now until Monday so I can't get any advice from them. Just wondered if anyone can offer me any advice on what we should do.
Oh yeah and she said they would refund him postage BUT it will go to the team and then a cheque would be paid out. When asked if they could put it by BAC's into his account she said they had destroyed any bank details held. Rather strange seeing as they were setting up a contract for him don't you think?

Send it back if you do not want a contract on your hands - thats going to cost a lot more than £6 or £8 special delivery to return the items.
Seeing as they have messed up - they should not only repay the postage but some compensation for time wasted (but I wouldn't hold your breath for the compensation). I would send a clearly written letter asking for both with the return package (and keep copy of the letter for yourself).0
