If you are looking to see where it might have come from and you have a sun roof, it could be the drains are blocked.
Cheers, haven't got a sunroof though! Only shoved my hand under the carpet today to check - I'll have a more thorough look on the weekend!

Just for sympathy OP, I'm currently running without carpets in my car whilst they dry out. I removed the carpet and wadding underneath - not only were they sodden, but I was left with a 1/2" puddle in the footwell

At least I know where the leak is now (seems to be bottom of windscreen rubber - pain in the a$$)
Hard work having water entry problems with the car isn't it?

Haven't got a puddle yet fortunately - the wadding (there's the word I was looking for originally!) is pretty sodden though so I might shove a load of newspapers under there on the weekend to dry it up.

Unfortunately finding leaks is notoriously difficult as far as I'm aware :(

    Could be blown heater matrix?
Don't think so - the heaters still work fortunately since I need them to get rid of the condensation on the windscreen! :D

I've had wet carpets behind the driver's seat for a few years. I'm just careful to not put stuff there ever. Once I had some shoes/stuff there and when I moved them I had to remove some big brown floppy mushrooms.

No idea where it comes in from, no idea how to deal with it ... so I just ignore it. If anybody has an effective way of keeping the area dry, it'd be handy. As I said, for now I just accept and ignore it.

The car's nearly 9 years old and it's been doing it for 3-4 years I guess.

    To trace a leak

Stick your head in the footwell (with no carpets) and get someone to liberally hose down the car - you should be able to get an indication of where the leak is at the very least and then a detailed inspection can take place.

I know where the leak in my other car is - the window doesn't shut properly! All the water falls straight through the holes in the bottom though :rotfl:

Thanks mate I'll try giving that a try.

That's your choice - might as well have told the story though for all the time it took to write your other posts :D

Fine if that's your attitude. Won't bother sharing.

I think you mean devastated. Blokes are hopeless at spelling. :rotfl:

You've got to be a bloke. A woman would've been interested in my story.
