What with the ice developing on the inside of my windscreen once or twice over the last few weeks, I had a spare five minutes today and went out and pulled the carpets up in my footwells - as I thought could feel that the layer beneath the carpets was pretty sodden with water.

You must have very short legs.:)"It is far better I say nothing and let people think I am an idiot than to open my mouth and confirm it beyond any doubt."0 -
So what's your point OP?
Are you asking about water in footwell and how it might have got there or do you know exactly how it got there?
Or are you just moaning about it?0 -

I think it was a statement of annoyance at what had happened and was posted so that people like you and I could 1) make a silly joke about short legs/ wet bottoms or 2) get overly indignant and self-righteous about nothing. No offence"It is far better I say nothing and let people think I am an idiot than to open my mouth and confirm it beyond any doubt."0 -

I have a story about water in my footwell but I'm not taking 10 minutes out of my life to post it unless I know that's what the OP is asking for.0 -

You want to make sure its water and not brake fluid.Nature wants the human race to survive. However, it does not depend on us because we are not its only invention.0 -
If you are looking to see where it might have come from and you have a sun roof, it could be the drains are blocked.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

If he's taken the carpet up and theres still paint on the floor its not brake fluid!
You would have to be EXCEPTIONALLY unlucky to get brake fluid under the carpet anyway.
Just for sympathy OP, I'm currently running without carpets in my car whilst they dry out. I removed the carpet and wadding underneath - not only were they sodden, but I was left with a 1/2" puddle in the footwell
At least I know where the leak is now (seems to be bottom of windscreen rubber - pain in the a$$)Proud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0 -
Could be blown heater matrix?0
