I was told it was only one per customer!

That was after seeing none around, picking up a couple of items (I had gone there specially for this), having to ask at the check-out, and an assistant then being sent.

As I left the store (this was about midday) they were just beginning to put out the display at the entrance. I tried my luck for another, but was ratted on by the assistant.

Oh, and my free box is quite small - about 6 inches by 4 inches.

Handing them out with a smile to everyone in the st Albans branch. Got a rectnagle one
  • Thanks for the heads up. I popped into Sainsburys on the way home after being on a course all day and they had a few left so we put a couple of each into the trolley and the check out assistant didn't even want to scan them. There were no notices to say they were free which might be why there were some left so late into the day.

  • Our store was obviously wanting to get shot of them by 5pm today as when I went in there was a sales assistant by the entrance giving them out. I got 2 of each size LOL! And they were announcing over the tannoy in case anyone had missed out.
  • got mine a small sandwich box went especially for it :)
  • I went to Telford Sainsbury with the intention of picking up a free storage container. Lovely chirpy asssistant was handing them to customers from a display stand just inside the entrance. Also had an information leaflet re ideas for leftovers that is quite informative. Admittedly there was no clear signage re free status of boxes.

After purchasing a few items I dropped shopping and free box off at car and returned (assistant had changed) and was offered one of each. Well to cut a long story short I ended up with 5 boxes after 1 1/2 hours of popping back inbetween shopping at other stores on the retail park.

Then I collected daughter from her sport fixture and returned to Bridgnorth. After recounting my saga to daughter she reminded me about the Bridgnorth store so in she popped to get a box. No boxes visible at the display so she went to customer services and asked, assistant there had no idea what she was on about but saw an unopened box which she duly opened to reveal loads of rectangular storage containers. When asked how many we could have the assistant said how ever many we wanted. So we walked out with 15. Now all filled and in freezer.:j
