Little one wetting bed but refusing nappies

Well done.
I just want to add to what someone said about avoiding blackcurrant. Orange squash was what we had to avoid, we never had any trouble with black currant but certain brands of orange squash definitely affected my son. If it is still a problem when he is a bit older try experimenting a bit with what he drinks. I have heard before that the colour in black currant drink can cause problems but for our son it was orange. Fizzy drinks affected him too.0 -
well done :-)
my son was 11yrs old before he was dry and HATED the pull ups but they were essential. he was so wet he would leak out of them! we were advised by the enuresis clinic to give regular drinks through the day but to ration slightly after 4pm with no caffeine drinks at all after 4pm.
hope you get a good nights sleep :-)0 -

I work in lots of different schools and nurseries and see it used alot. None of this asking what the child wants to do but giving them 2 choices. This is my absolute favourite, and I find myself employing it often. More so now DD is 8:D
Tis very effective especially on the more errr challenging kiddies...they still feel a sense of control as they have to make a choice but obviously the choices are in a win-win situation for the parent/teacher whatever....(ooops... DS take front stage:o)
OP, I would second mrcows idea. Give him the choice of a babygro (and 'baby' nappies) or big boy jammies with big boy night time pants;)
I love it - the thrill when it works never dissipate's for me.... and the relief :rotfl:
Let us know how you get on x
Yes it'll be great if it works tonight...only 2 or 3 more nights and this battle should hopefully be won. 'fingers crossed smilie!'Not just a sucker for sweeties..:o0 -

Mr Cow is absolutely right.
The child is still very young and it's not really about the bed-wetting, it's control. He is at that stage that he wants to push the boundaries, your job as mum is to keep him in his place.
Well done for the sticking to the choices, your mum YOU make the choices.
Hopefully this will be nipped in the bud, it is good that he wants out of nappies at such a young age, but his body is not quite ready for this strong willed mind.
good luck, and as Mr Cow has said, keep the protective sheets on, pull ups can still leak.
Can you have a torch/night light by his bed and maybe a potty, just in case he is not confident to go to the loo at night alone, i wonder if a potty by the bed would help until he is ready to go nappy free with success0 -

good luck, and as Mr Cow has said, keep the protective sheets on, pull ups can still leak. But not as bad as no pull-ups

Potty was a disaster for me with DS, maybe because he looked to DD all the time, and she was way past that at his point. It worked great for her though:j
My DS is 3 now, and it's so much more work than DD was. I'm being as laid back as I can, but every now and then he has a shockingly bad DAY, I take bad enough when it's an occaisonal puke that promotes the strip/change at 3:00am, and I can't put up with pee changes too. Really try and make him believe it's what big boys wear and you'll buy yourself more sleep. less heatache, less washing and more peace.
Waiting for 3 dry in a row before I start the nightime trauma.
I tell myself I did the first year at his behest now he's doing it at mine! Not just a sucker for sweeties..:o0
