t's an ISO image. 7GB is the zipped size! haha. I'll check adrive out. God knows how long it'll take to upload onto that if it's free though. Don't think I have any other options really though!

Cheers for the advice everyone
The cleanest option here, IMO, is what you yourself suggested gaz: if at all possible (borrow, beg, lol) burn onto dvd media and you'll be all set; no subsequent repercussions either - for you or the recipient ;).

As you're doing your colleague a favour tell him to pull his finger out and buy an 8GB or bigger USB stick.

Has either of you got an MP3 player (or possibly phone) with 8Gb or more of storage?
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

You, my friend, are a genius! I can put it onto the micro sd card in my phone and give him that. That saves me having to split the files and then get a call from him later asking why they wont merge together again.

    Thanks very much :)

You still might need to split the file if the card is formatted as FAT32..

Sorry to jump in but seeing as were talking usb memory sticks can I ask what I need for my Daughter it would be to save work on her laptop and then be able to use on my pc. Last night she had a couple of music tracks which she wanted to transfer from her lappy to mine so thats really all it would be for
Also I have Microsoft works on here but she only has Tesco word thing so are there any compatible programmes or anything or will she need to get Works on her laptop to be able to save her work on and use between her lappy and my pc ?

Yeah, as you might see I aint that clever with computers :rotfl:

Edit : How much should I expect to pay ?

The easiest way for you would just be with a USb drive. Get yourself maybe an 8GB as you'd be able to fit a fair amount of music on that.

The easiest way if you're on the same network is to share the folders but if you are not great on computers this may be more trouble than it is worth.

As for the Microsoft Word issue. There is a free piece of software called Open Office. It is compatable with Microsoft Word and is actually a really good bit of kit. A lot of staff at work use Open Office and we never have any problems with it. It's definitely worth you looking at.

    What gaz said.

Use OpenOffice. If all you want is to transfer the odd file between the machines then you could jsut get a 2Gb or 4Gb stick, should be able to get one for less than a tenner.

If one of my friends wanted a number of large files from me I would ask them to supply the means to move them about, i.e. Bring your own drive.
