a new combi system without a timer???

i live abroad and have just had a bosche combi installed and the bosche service advised me that it works best without a timer--i find that i am passing out at night on the sofa and waking up in the wee hours and the boiler is still pumping-costing me money and drying me out!! i had a valliant combi fitted in my uk home…

Without checking prices, I got my thermostat/timer locally for a trade price of about £40 3 years ago, 5/2 day with 6 variable time periods and temperatures.
