i live abroad and have just had a bosche combi installed and the bosche service advised me that it works best without a timer--i find that i am passing out at night on the sofa and waking up in the wee hours and the boiler is still pumping-costing me money and drying me out!!
i had a valliant combi fitted in my uk home about 4 years ago and it has a timer--could it be a climatic thing--here is genedrally dry and a tad warmer--temperatures go between 13 and down to 6 at night at this time of year--45 in the summer and will ask about acs later lol

What utter rubbish.
Do the radiators have TRVs
The system should be fitted with a programmable thermostat.
Why don't you just switch it off? That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
i think its runbbish and no they dont have individıual therms--the instruction was to just turn the central thermostat down to 15degrees !--gas is new in this city and people are running around with all sorts of misnomers--i could list more queries if you have day to spare lol--i wish i could ask a bosch service but i dont speak the lingo here--mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0

You could possibly replace the thermostat with a programmable one, then you'd be able to regulate your temperature for different times of the day.
Something like this:
Maybe ring Worcester Bosch in the UK and ask for advise
Or ask one of your neighbours to phone the local office, where are you? That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
that sounds perfect for the job--why arent they used as normal back in the uk--if your interested on this gas saga i have another thread on the go about'the price of a unit! -it started as a simple comment but has swung into a nationalism debate lol-maybe you could bring some common sense to it??!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0

Most of the family have one as part of their installations. I retrofitted one to my older system, its quite easy to do. It probably depends on the competency of the company/heating engineer doing the installation. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

many thanks all--we have the installing engineer visiting because of my queries-i will show him the pictures and speak pidgeon english-do they just go on the wiring circuit of the exiisting provided thermostat and you bin that--i was querying on another thread the power level level we should be set at--he says it should be at 4 and we feel happy at 2 or 3--what does it actually control within the system?--
-the water feed pumps off a sizeable bucket of water before i get any hot in the furthest bathroom -we pay for water and i collect it for the toilet flush but i can imagine that a residue of hot water will be left in the pipes equal to thatmfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0 -
i just got told by the mrs that they want 120 squid for an electronic timer--including fitting lolmfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0

its saturday night -i cant phone the uk without incurring the wifes wrath so come on tell me the price on the afore photod timers-i tried the net to no avail-if its worth the post i will get one sent to me--i may even start importing them!!!120 quid seems excessive--eletricians here are cheap along with plumbers and upholsterers---so poor they walk to their jobs with heavy boxes--how different societies value labour!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0
