    thanks for all the replies.

I've done a bit more reading and I've decided I'm going to take the plunge. Has anyone seen a good deal (i.e cheap) for the W7 professional (32bit) upgrade pack. I'm not eligible for the student deals on the likes of software4students :(

    Cheers

Yes you are, you know lots people whose kids are at UNI, they have a @ .ac.uk email addy, it's as simple as that !

    - the dot ac dot uk account gets the goods, and you get the full pack

    Yup Richie

As above ^, I managed to get a copy from software4students in the end - my youngest brother attends college once a week for his apprenticeship and is therefore still a registered 'student'. All is good! :D

Of course getting someone else who is elligible for an educational discount to buy it for you violates the terms of the license agreement.

If you going to break the terms of the license you may as well steal it anyway. There doesn't seem much point in spending money to have a copy that isn't legal anyway.
It's my problem, it's my problem

And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die
