Cyclists in the inside lane

We are all road users, we are all human beings, why not show a bit more tolerance to each other, then we will all get home safely.;)0

My experience of riding on the roads (over a 20 year period) has taught me that in nearly every case where a motorist turns left in front of a cyclist, it is the motorist at fault. Cyclists don't go around with a death wish. Being knocked off is painful.
No, im betting that the cyclist had right of way, and that the brother just wasn't paying attention. By the way, my front light is about the size of a box of matches, but is almost as bright as a car headlamp, with a spread of light a good 30 feet. My rear light is one of the brightest available on the market. Motorists still act as though I don't exist.scotsman4th wrote: »I dont think he's really modified, more clarified for those that made assumptions about the driver.
I always say theres loads of bad drivers out there. Equally, theres loads of bad cyclists out there too.
It's the same on forums. Theres loads of drivers that wont admit they're wrong because it involves cyclists, and cyclists wont admit it's wrong because they cycle.
Reading it, I think the cyclist is at fault (it does happen) and his aggressive attitude also makes me think this could show up in his riding.
Honestly, this wasn't supposed to be a bike bashing thread. I was generally interested in opinions. I don't need for my brother to be exonorated either - I have mentioned in this thread several times that I think my brother was also in the wrong to an extent.
Regarding the editing of my posts - it was pointed out to me that I had mixed up inside and outside lanes. I fixed this in the original post to avoid any further confusion and stated that I was doing this alongside the reason. I am not trying to get out of anything (I wasn't the one involved, couldn't give a monkeys what people think of my brother, and I'm pretty sure MSE users aren't able to demand a retest of someone whose sibling posted about something that happened whilst they were driving) nor am I trying to deceive anyone. I have tried to be as clear as possible in my posts regarding what happened, but I recognise that the initial posts didn't make what I meant obvious - if you felt I have misled you then please respond and I'll be happy to try to resolve it.
Oh, and I'm a girl by the way. Crying into my mittens everytime someone has called me he in this thread0 -

oh and mikey72, i would love it if you tried to have a go at me with your wheel wrench if you had failed to look in your mirror before turning left!
when i go out on my bike at night im clothed in the appropriate reflective clothing and have 2 lights on the back and a HID gas discharge light on the front , people still cut me up or nearly knock me off.
so frustrating to see the attitude of some car drivers on here.
perhaps you should leave the cars at home, get out on your pushbikes and see it from our side.
in town? easy
not all of us tootle along
always funny how motorists feel its fine to overtake then cut up a bike to turn left
and ive been off the bike a few times for a 'chat' with drivers
im no superwaife cyclistbikingbarney wrote: »i fail to see how a cyclist would be able to match the speed of a car or even beat it to "undertake " as you say ??

seconded,a day out in Edinburgh on a push bike would show regardless of the poor cyclists in the city the poor drivers outnumber them0 -

Ok, if you keep undertaking as well, and if you want to depend on me checking my mirror to avoid you, maybe we'll meet. I'm still not heartless, even if you run into me and scuff my paint I'll get you an ambulance.0 -
Some people on this thread shouldnt have driving licences.;)Nature wants the human race to survive. However, it does not depend on us because we are not its only invention.0

Some cyclists should realise not all drivers are their best friends, undertaking is suicidal, and it's never going to be my fault if you want to do it, and I don't see you.
I won't chase you, but if you then decide road rage is appropriate, that's your choice as well.
All I'm saying is you may be very unpleasantly surprised if you find a driver whose first response is to ensure you have no opportunity to use violence, if you decide aggression is the best route.0 -

you struggling with my post?
where did i mention any undertaking?
custardy:
cyclist
car driver
van driver
pedestrian
martial artist
kettle bell enthusiast
i manage all of the above quite well
i wont be needing an ambulance0 -
This whole thread is about an idiot cyclist undertaking, then having a road rage fit.
If you want to start a fight over a different scenario, that's up to you.0
