I'd have thought that if the pedal got stuck down then it's just a matter of getting the left foot onto the clutch and braking.
    Happy chappy
  • I think this recall is seperate to the mats catching issue, it involves a modification to the pedal sensor assembly I think.

Indeed, the only reported accidents have been in the USA , where as we know, they are mainly Automatic's, however the Yanks seem to manage to crash their cars in to shop fronts, swimming pools etc. on a regular basis, whatever make.
  • Wondered if anyone has had their cars 'fixed' as it were yet...

Mine has gone in today for the recall, was just wondering what freebie I might get, the last 2 recalls have given me a car cleaning kit and £10 of fuel!!

Sick of all this sudden recall panic. Car manufacturers do it all the time !!!!!!, and most models have a list as long as my arm.

Agreed, it is mainly media hype, pushed on by the US Government that has a vested interest in the likes of GM etc.

It's only a panic because Toyota made it one.
But to be fair to them, no-one else has ever had a recall so big, across the world before. The car in front now is definately a Toyota.
Toyota also have a recall list longer than most peoples arms, they've just been caught out on this after denying it for so long,

Google "Toyota crash", out of the first 5, 3 are UK, then I gave up.
(I know, it's the media for reporting it, not Toyota for making it)
